Blackletter Typeface

This project explores the creation and refinement of a custom blackletter typeface, inspired by the historic calligraphic traditions of medieval Europe. Blackletter—known for its sharp angles, dense textures, and dramatic contrast—carries a visual weight and authority that has made it an enduring style across centuries. The goal of this design was to honor the traditional structure of blackletter while introducing modern clarity and balance.

This blackletter design works especially well for titles, logos, posters, and branding projects that aim to evoke a sense of heritage, craft, or bold personality. By blending historical inspiration with modern precision, the typeface becomes a bridge between eras—carrying the intensity and artistry of medieval calligraphy into a fresh, functional typographic form.
